Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.
I Peter 4:10
We are the arms of Jesus, embracing women in their world so that they will live more fully for Him.
Our desire is to glorify God by striving to meet the needs of women in our church and community.
Bible Studies
Because Bible study stands at the heart of Women’s Ministry, small study groups are available year-round on weekday mornings and evenings, meeting at the church or in private homes. Child care is sometimes available for
daytime studies for a small fee. Pick up a list of current groups at the Welcome Desk in the church foyer or click the blue text above, "Bible Studies."
In addition, a number of women gather weekly during the summer months for a time of prayer and fellowship. This is a wonderful way to build one another up and make new friends!
Watch the bulletin for updates.
Special Events
Fall Fellowship & Auction
Refreshment, reconnection and FUN will make up our one-day Fall Event.
Christmas Social
Maybe you’re wondering, “Why should I add one more event to December, my busiest month?” This is not just an evening to enjoy friends, delicious homemade treats and familiar carols. It’s an opportunity to invite loved ones to join you in remembering Jesus’ birth. If God had not become a man, we would be without hope in this life and the next. Many unchurched or unsaved people are eager to be included in holiday festivities.
Spring Social
We hope you will join us for a fun springtime social uniting generations of women. Spend time getting
to know one another while enjoying delicious food, entertainment and a speaker to refresh the heart. All women and school-aged girls are invited. Be watching for details and a “Save the Date” early next year.
Spring Retreat
Our annual Spring Retreat will once again take place at Sandy Cove Bible Conference in North East, Maryland.
Mercy and Encouragement
Our hope: that God will use us to shower his mercy into the lives of women and girls who need help, comfort, or encouragement.
We love providing gift baskets to new moms and meals to families during times of illness, transition or crisis.
Our Secret Sister program is an opportunity for any woman to reach out to and develop friendships with junior and senior high-school-aged girls in our church (this gets underway at our Christmas Social in December).
We send Birthday Boxes to college-aged girls. Questions or info: contact Kelly Fenton.
Our widows’ group (“God’s Special Women”) meets for Bible study, fellowship and outings. (Contact Joyce Gondy to learn more.)
Life does, at times, bring distress, hurt, and discouragement, and we are committed to walking through those difficult times with you. You can contact any member of our committee (listed on the back of this brochure) for help of any kind, at any time. If we cannot help you, we’ll find someone who can.
If you have abilities, gifts or ideas that you feel would be helpful to us, or if you know of a need, or if you’d like to serve alongside us, we’d love to hear from you. Contact Julie Montgomery.
Service Opportunities
We strongly believe that every committed Christian woman should be serving the Lord in some area. If you are a woman who considers CEFC your church home, there are many areas in which you can use the gifts that God has given you. We encourage you to choose a ministry area and commit to serving there regularly. For some, that means serving in the nursery or fixing a meal. For others, it’s teaching a Bible study. If you need help finding a ministry area that matches your gifts, please contact a Women’s Ministry Team member and we will be glad to help you.
