Women's Ministry

Our desire is to glorify God by striving to meet the needs of women in our church and in our community.  We are the arms of Jesus, embracing women in their world so that they will live more fully for Him.

Since spiritual growth is our priority, we present opportunities for you to be an active participant in Sunday School, Bible studies, and other teaching and training opportunities.  We encourage you to check out the options below to find something that fits for you.

Women's Bible Studies

Throughout the year, our ladies gather for fellowship, prayer and accountability in the Word. Each September our Wednesday morning and evening Bible studies begin, though over the summer we also have a study as well as weekly prayer groups.  Many studies are offered each year, recently ranging from a Precept study of Nehemiah to a study of Future Grace. Quality childcare is offered for morning studies at a nominal cost.  See the bottom of this page for a list of studies currently being offered.

Events

You were created for more than a party -- but it sure does make the journey even more fun!  The CEFC Women's Committee loves to party with a purpose: it's our desire to provide not only enjoyable social events for the women of our church (and creative outlets for our planners), but first and foremost we desire to spur all of our women in their own walk of faith.

As we plan our Parties with a Purpose, our goals are to provide you with fellowship opportunities to catch up with your sisters at CEFC, a comfortable environment for you to practice hospitality as you invite friends with whom you desire to share your faith and the love and warmth of our congregation, and the privilege of sharing in the support of your sisters through women's ministry so they are able to attend Bible studies or the spring retreat.

Our purposes are many.  Our goal is singular, to bring honor and glory to our Heavenly Father. We'd love to have you join us - to help plan or to just Party with a Purpose.

Mercy and Encouragement

Our hope is that God will use us to shower his mercy into the lives of women who need help, comfort, or encouragement.  We love providing gift baskets to first time moms and meals to families during times of illness, transition or crisis.

“God’s Special Women” is our widows group that meets monthly for a time of prayer and Bible study.  These women use their experiences of widowhood to reach out to others who have recently been widowed.

Mom's Together

Three times a year our mothers meet for a morning designed to encourage and equip moms with children from birth through fifth grade.  Each event includes a hot breakfast, a presentation on a relevant topic, and the opportunity for discussion around tables, all in a fun and relaxing atmosphere.  At the same time, their young children are enjoying a special, quality, age-appropriate program with Bible stories, games, crafts and snacks.

JONAH
You Can’t Outrun Grace
Study by Paul Tripp

At the center of the universe is a God of awesome, stunning, incalculable glory! But our diseased hearts tell us we are the center of the universe, that we don't need Jesus, & that our personal kingdoms are greater than God's eternal kingdom. Far too often we live as God-amnesiacs: we know the facts about God but live as if He doesn't exist. We, along with Jonah, can forget that we don't live in the center of the world; God does. This is an 8-week study with DVD & study book by Paul Tripp. Come see what God has to teach you about control, grace, & following the Lord God.

 Beginning: September 20
9:15 — 11:30 AM — CEFC — childcare provided
Location: Room 3 — Cost: under $10

GALATIANS
Who Has Bewitched You? Why and How?
Precept Upon Precept Inductive Study

As the gospel spread across the Roman world in the first decades after Jesus’ earthly ministry, conflict arose. Jews and Gentiles were believing the gospel, and a struggle over what it meant to be a Christian began. What does it mean to live under grace? Do you have to keep the Law to be a Christian? All of it or just part of it? Who is right? How will we know? God used an apostle to write a letter to some churches that were struggling with this issue, a letter that still speaks today. Its message clearly defines the relationship between Law and grace, and how Christians live under grace, led by the Spirit, free from bondage.

Sunday Morning

WOMEN’S SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS

The Women's Sunday School class will be studying a book by Jen Wilkin called None Like Him. From the back cover: God is self-existent, self-sufficient, eternal, immutable, omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent, sovereign, infinite and incomprehensible. We are not. In an upside-down world that has humanized God and deified man, we will be called to lift our eyes upward, to earnestly contemplate God's attributes and to humbly acknowledge our own limits.

Beginning: September 10, 2017
9 AM
Location: Room 3
Leaders: Team taught

A Note About Childcare

Knowing that it is nearly impossible to study the Bible with a room full of children, we offer childcare services during the morning study hours for preschool-aged children. Mothers are asked to please sign their children up ahead of time by calling their study leader; this will enable us to have an adequate number of sitters to safely accommodate the number of children entrusted to our care. You are asked to pay a weekly fee of $3 for the first child, and $1 for each additional child to help cover expenses. If you prefer, you can arrange to leave your own child(ren) at home with your own sitter. Thank you in advance for not bringing your child(ren) to your class.
