VBS this year was another great week!
Please be on the lookout for instructions coming very soon for electronically obtaining the background checks and mandated reporter training now required for volunteers working with children and youth. THANK YOU for your ministry! We appreciate your labors, and strive to keep this process from being burdensome as much as possible.
This past Sunday afternoon, we gathered for lunch, enjoyed a gorgeous afternoon, and celebrated with several people who were baptized or gave a public profession of faith. Below are some pictures -- we hope you'll join us next time!
It was a great evening on Sunday as we prayed for Bob & Sue Kummer and commissioned them before sending them to Italy this week, then celebrated with strawberries and ice cream on the lawn. If you missed this time of food and fun, be sure to join us on June 7 for our church picnic and baptism service!
Every spring, and every autumn, CEFC sets aside an entire week for us as a church body to concentrate on praying. For our church, for our ministries and outreaches, for our community, for our nation and our world. Prayer meetings are held each night at various homes in the area, and we enjoy the privilege of speaking to our King and Father.
Have you heard of these prayer meetings and wonder what they're all about? Join us next time... the Spring 2015 Week of Prayer just wrapped up, but we'll be doing it again this November.
Please join us each Wednesday this summer at 7:00 PM to study God's Word, memorize God's Word, pray, and fellowship. We will be using the book Slogging Along In the Paths of Righteousness by Dale Ralph Davis -- expositions on Psalms 13-24. Let's fall in love with these Psalms together beginning on June 10, and ending on August 26. We will meet at the home of Esther Prosser. If you need a book ($12.40), please contact Esther by June 3.
On Saturday March 28, our Stockade boys and families traveled to Cornerstone Presbyterian Church in Landenberg, PA to participate in the annual Shape 'N Race competition with four other area churches. After two months of designing and building the cars, all enjoyed watching the race while building relationships with old and new friends. Thank you to Chris Schreier and Eric Stratton, our Stockade leaders, and all the dads that helped with the cars!
On Friday evening, March 13, we welcomed Nancy Guthrie as she spoke to a group of women from area churches. On Saturday, Nancy spoke at our one-day Women's Retreat as well. Feedback from the weekend was fantastic, and if you were unable to make it but would like to hear the messages (or if you simply want to hear them a second time!), you can now do so below. Thank you to Nancy and to everyone who attended or helped make this weekend happen!
While we are unable to provide the audio for the Friday night message, "When God Says No," here is a link to the same message given by Nancy to another group.
The CEFC offices will be closed all day on Thursday, March 5, 2015.
Snow plowing at CEFC of the projected 4-8" will occur after snowfall ends, sometime Thursday late afternoon or evening. In the event anyone needs to drive to the church today, please consider parking at the Community Center, if the parking lot there is plowed.
