Genesis II

Teacher: Rick Renninger

Genesis, the “book of beginnings” sets the stage for the entire plan of salvation and rightly gives us pause. Who God is? What he is doing? Who are we as beings both made in God’s image, yet fallen? And what is our place in his redemptive purposes? Genesis is certainly well worth pondering - celebrating the activity of the sovereign God it presents and exploring what it all means for us as we seek to live out our faith today.

Meets at the Summerfield Community Center,
just a short walk west of our church.

Marriage

Teacher: Ed and Rachel Saadi

Most of us want to have a good marriage. Those who don't have a good relationship yearn for a better one, while those who have a good one want even more intimacy. Those who are engaged to be married want their hopes and dreams for marriage to become a reality. Those who hope to be married one day may want to prepare themselves in advance so that they can fulfill their role in making a good marriage should the Lord lead them that way.

If any of these sounds like you, whether you realize it or not, you want the type of marriage designed by God. He created the institution of marriage and defined it as leaving parents and all other such loyalties, weaving a life of intimacy together and cleaving in sexual bliss. Our class will delve into the wisdom of the Bible in order to learn what it takes to have not just a "good" marriage, but one that enjoys the relational richness that God intended for a husband and a wife.

Meets: Community Center across the side lawn.

The Reason for God

Teachers: Various

Been asked any questions lately…like…How can there be just one true religion? How could a good God allow suffering? Hasn’t science disproved Christianity? In 1 Peter 3:15, we’ve all been given the charge: “but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you, yet do it with gentleness and respect”. If you aren’t prepared and want to be, or are prepared and want to be moreso, then join us this winter as we work through “The Reason for God” by Timothy Keller where all of the above and many more questions are answered.

Meets in room 6.
