Our
goal: to present every man and woman "complete in Christ."
Adult
Sunday School meets during each of the worship hours on
Sunday morning. For three quarters each year we divide adults into
several "mixed" classes for the purpose of learning how
to apply the Bible to real life, and for developing friendships
with others in the body. Special groups are offered for men only
and women only. For information on Sunday School for Fall 2004,
please clink on the link above.
Small
Groups are our more in-depth Bible study groups, offered
throughout the week in different locations and on different days
and nights. Most of these are open to newcomers, but we also start
new groups on a regular basis to reach out to new people and help
them get involved in church life.
Evening
Prayer is where the "real work" of CEFC is done. We
can pour countless hours into preparing services, reaching out to
people in need and teaching Sunday School classes, but unless God
is working through our efforts nothing of value will be accomplished.
This is why we spend every Sunday evening from 6:30-7:45 PM in prayer
for various needs in our church and in the world. Many people have
also found that the informal atmosphere on Sunday evenings enables
them to more easily meet others at church.
Women's
and Men's Ministries exist to meet the unique needs of these
groups. Our Women's Ministry offers weekly Bible studies open to
all women (with babysitting for morning groups). Additionally, they
sponsor socials and an annual retreat. Watch the bulletin for specific
details. Men's Ministry offers frequent Saturday morning breakfasts,
socials and a yearly retreat. Several men's small groups have also
formed recently. For more information, please click on Women's
Ministry or Men's Ministry.
The
Counseling Ministry, headed by Arleigh Hegarty, seeks to minister
to people in times of crisis and emotional need by providing comfort
and counsel in light of biblical guidelines for living. One of the
most-used counseling services we offer is pre-marital counseling,
required of all couples married by a CEFC pastor. For more details
on our counseling ministry, see the brochure at the Welcome Center
or contact the church office at 610-286-6790.
